"The pool is closed due to lightning."

So Friday night, we decided to take the kids swimming at the Y for fun and so that I could get my laps in. I was happily swimming my laps and Shannon was goofing around with the kids. Suddenly, Shannon noticed some fecal matter on the bottom of the pool. His first thought was, "man, who's kid pooped?!". He was looking around and thinking he better tell one of the moms to check her kids pants, when he realized that Lena was near by. Because she had a history of "relaxing" in water when she was younger, he decided to ask her first. She said sweetly, "It was an accident." He alerted me and whisked her off to the locker room while I sheepishly approached the life guard to confess. He at first cleared only that section to clean up and test the water, but after a phone call to his manager-I guess- (come to think of it, maybe it was his girlfriend and he was making quick plans for a date) they closed down the pool. We kind of slunk out of there apologizing to other families. As we walked out past the front desk, they had posted the sign, "Pool closed due to lightning." I guess that beats the truth. I try to consistently pray for help to be humble. This is further evidence that God is in the business of answering our prayers!
