Lena during the family put-put game
Mom Haerr & Aunt Nancy going at it with some new game.
At least one game of softball is mandatory!
Abe playing put-putWe traditionally get together once a year to camp out with Shannon's mom's family, the Wysongs. This year, we spent Memorial Day Weekend together at Sycamore Springs campground near Sabetha, KS. It has mini-golf and an old roller rink. We also play softball, have water fights, and spend a lot of time around the campfire catching up. We were there 3 nights and had a blast. We came home tired and with everything we took smelling like smoke and smudged with mud (thanks to 2 down pours), but we wouldn't trade it for anything. Our good friends, Randy and Becky Drish, graciously have allowed us to use their camper the last few times....saving us from "real" camping (no AC or personal toliet) or sleeping in our vehicles, which we used to do. We were not campers growing up (unless the Holiday Inn counts), so this is something that I am still learning about and adapting to. I would like to think of myself as a rugged outdoor kind of woman, but I'm learning how soft and spoiled I really am. Where's my sense of adventure? I'm pretty sure that I left it at the last Holiday Inn.
